Comparing Televue eyepieces

Hi!

I am looking for people's opinions on the comparisons between viewing with different TV eyepieces of the same length. Now I know about FOV differences, but I am more interested in the contrast and clarity. I have a high power TV Nagler and a low power TV plossl - so it is impossible to compare the quality of the two eyepieces.
Are the Nagler and Pano really higher quality? Or do the extra elements mean a loss of contrast?
Very subjectivity... but I am wanting to listen to your varied opinions!

it is really difficult to compare contrast - seeing at one time/site can be diff to another - if magnification is different (higher) you can see a better background,
some Tv eyepieces do have a slight warm-ish tone - its not to my liking but its not an issue with most dso's

some ep's with less elements i like (like the rke which i had put down to 3 elements design).

though eye placement / relief is more important to me now

Yea Grant , as Dannat says its not easy as every bodys eyes are different ,
I have a 22mm Pan , 17mm t4 , and 8mm Radian , that about does it for me , Hard to beat
I also have a full set of UO Orthoscopics ( 24mm - 5mm) for high power planatery work and a nice set of Saxon ED's for public night viewing , these work very well for people that have not looked thru a scope before because of their 20mm eye releif , yea , so its hard to please all ..Just enjoy what ya got , mate.

I think you'll find that you will have a hard time spotting the difference. All of Televue's eyepieces even their plossl's are fully multi-coated with their exotic materials for maximum light transmission. Although most reviews suggest the ethos range have the best views regarding contrast, clarity and light transmission.

All though it might be that majesty factor thing .

In regards to the best light transmission, I think the laws of physics would dictate their plossl range would perform best. Purely because there is less lenses for the light to travel through.
In the end for the end users like you or I, its all subjective, but you can rest assured any one of TV products will provide excellent views.
