Music-Music-Music

Ok all you young whipper snappers. I bet none of you know of the times when "Real" music filled the air waves.

Take a look at these great titles that had words you could hear (even let your children hear) and sing.

Those pics are of the cassette holder of popular music of the 1940's that I have in the cupboard. By the way vinyl is quite modern what about the stuff they did use in the 20's, 30's and 40's

The only problem with statements like this is that you are making a generalization based on only a hand full of song that happen to get air play. And that's only a small percentage of music that's actually being produced and not a fair representation of all genres.

Well said, Brendan.

Radio is full of garbage for people with short attention spans.

Not a generalisation.

What are you talking about. What was the generalisation. Are you refering to my comments of music from the 40's. That was just a list of the music played on radio in the 1940's from an album of cassettes. I don't know or like all the tunes but I do know 90% of the songs and the artists

Of course the stuff played on radio those days got there by the same means as it does now, promotion by the record companies of material they think will make the most money, Not necessarily the best music of the time. Incidently my Elva knows just what it was like on radio in the 1940's and what was played. She was the announcer (they call them DJ's these days) on 2GF Grafton for six years in the early 1940's

Some of the LP records we have here date from the 30's right through to the 70's
