Photopic Sky Survey

After rereading every single description in this place, this seems like the correct little forum for this.

A mate of mine posted this link to me http://skysurvey.org/ which has a "5,000 megapixel photograph of the entire night sky stitched together from 37,440 exposures. Large in size and scope, it portrays a world far beyond the one beneath our feet and reveals our familiar Milky Way with unfamiliar clarity."

It would count as an amazing shot on its own, but in this form the spacial information it provides is amazing.

Now I assume quite a few people on this site would have visited it before, but with a few searches I was unable to bring up any threads. So either sorry for the repeat post or...

Enjoy.

Is it strange that I feel the same about SMC and LMC cloud that I get when fish in the tropics hanging around you while you swim disappear about of your field of view? I know they want to bite mine toes...

Excellent for planning wide field photographic projects - already got my tour of Scorpius worked out from this great image!

Lovely!
