Under 16's Rugby League

We have a young friend of the family living with us now, Graham. I took him to his footy match today in Orange, so amused myself taking photos, of course, while he played.

Here's a few of the better action shots. All have been cropped, some have been scaled down a bit as well before saving for the web to help get the filesize down. Most were pretty sharp as is, only one had significant sharpening.

Oh, they lost BTW, but I don't think that's anything to be ashamed of given the side they played with more than a handful of rep players...

Oly E510, 70-300 zoom.

Woo-Hooooo, great action shots Al

The 1st and 2nd are illegal tackles placing the man with the ball in a 'Dangerous Position', and number 4 is another penalty for a 'High Tackle'.

Number 6 is funny. You are meant to illegally shove your elbow down on the oppositions face, not a team-mate

Focus is nice and sharp for the play being so far away and in motion.

Thanks Ken. I'm not current with the finer points of the game these days, I don't follow it much and haven't played since school/uni. I was shocked at the scrum feeds I saw though... I can't believe what they can get away with these days.
