USB Splitters

Hello. I use a MacBook Pro laptop in my dome. It only has two USB ports. I'm about to add a focuser, leading to at least three needed USB ports. This would be for the CCD control, Mount control, Focuser control, etc. Can I use one of those standard USB splitters in one of the ports or will this cause problem?

Thanks,
Rob

I use a hub for my set up. It was a no go with the autoguider until I found a powered hub. No problems since then. I run the mount, focusser, camera and autoroutes through the hub. And use a 10m USB cable to the Mac without any issues. I am using Windows through Boot Camp if that is relevant

Great feedback Pete. I saw that they came powered and unpowered. I wasn't sure which accessories needed power, thus being an issue. I was thinking of erring on the side of getting a powered hub as I have mains in the dome. Appreciate the feedback....
