Telrad collimation

Hello, I have been having troubles collimating my Telrad to see the circles and now I think I have screwed the screws too far and cannot see anything or which direction to turn. Anybody have any tips on collimating these wee beasties?

Well with my telrad when I need to align it at the start of every viewing session. I usually find a probably really bright star in the eyepiece which is easy because my 7x50 usually fairly well aligned from the start. Then I turn the little 3 knobs until that bright star is in the centre of the 3 circles.
Collimating probably isn't the best word to describe the process. If you think the screws are too far in just unscrew them till you see movement. Less your telrad maybe broken.

hi graham
you say you can't see the red circles there is a on off lever on the side you keep on going up with it once it's on and the circles get brighter,if you still can't see the circles the batteries are flat...

yes there a little tricky you have to have your eye lined up so when behind move around a little till you see the rings even take it of the scope and try..no use trying to align telrad if you can't find the rings..occasionally it still takes me a sec or to to find them depends on what angle the scope is at...
