New to this forum. Newbie M42

Hi all. I am new to this forum.
It's my last trial of M42 before winter.

Nice shot, but ill bet there is a lot more data to tweak out of that image if you got 48 mins worth. What software are you using to process? Check out utube there are ton of tutorials on processing Astrophotoraphy shots, there is areally good one one the Orion neb.

Nice start Simon. Looks like there should be a lot more there to pull out but one thing to bear in mind is the dark halos around the stars. This is usually caused by over sharpening or deconvolution. Just something to watch with a reprocess of this one.

Hi Simon,

Welcome to IIS! Nice first submission for sure. What equipment did you use to take this?
To prevent the dark halos, look into creating a star mask. Dark halos are usually prevalent in areas of contrast (such as big fat white stars on a dark background).
