3 star alignment

would hadar, acrux, and canopus be fine for a 3 star alignment for GOTO function? i can only see south and bit of east from backyard and west to the horizon and north from front yard. West is the only direction i can see the horizon.

hadar, acrux, miaplacidus, canopus and sirius would be better.

You can probably get hadar, acrux, and miaplacidus without a meridian flip, and then flip for the other two.

As far as i know - Gemini units can do many stars, it will just keep adding to its model and become more accurate with each align
