aligning EQ5 goto - Polaris displayed?

Hi,

just received a SW EQ5 goto, still haven't aligned it yet, but have noticed that after setting the lat long the next step of the alignment shows polaris on the handset (which you can't seem to change).

am i doing something wrong or is that the way it is suppose to work?

thanks

Hi Colin,

Yeah, my HEQ5 pro does this too, it is a hangover from the Northern Hemisphere code within it that gives you the position of Polaris to help you with the alignment...just skip over it as we don't use Polaris in the Deep South....

Just ignore it and continue with physical polar align and 2-3 star alignment procedure, all will be well.

Cheers

Chris
