Here's a rendition of IC2948 (Running Chicken) in HST narrowband. Ha is rendered as orange(ish) to show its extent. Noisy as hell, with stacking artefacts included and very much a work in progress as I need much more OIII and SII data.
Bok globules came up OK though. After so much cloud its good to be under the stars again.
RC8 with ST-8300 and 20 minute subs - repro when more data available.
That's a spectacular image, and those Bok globules are very striking. Maybe as you say more data from the other channels will add to the colour palette, but I simply love the warm orange colours in this image! Just stunning.

Thanks Rolf, I have a preference for the warm pallet too and it can give good contrast. Hopefully more data will smooth it out a little (or it could be a heavy hand with the stretching) I appreciate the comment.

I'm not sure more data will make much of a difference though other than you will be able to sharpen it a tad more.

I was hoping to get some more OIII an SII in an effort to bring some different colours into it, currently it has 100 min Ha, 60 min each of OIII and SII. The Ha seems to overpower all else in my less than subtle hands
Pallets..... the traditional RGB is the hardest for me I always seem to bugger it up

Thanks Rob glad you approve Colour mapping, basically putting the data for filters in the RGB channels of the image but this can be manipulated by selectively adding or subtracting from the colours in photoshop. Have a look at this page by Bob Franke for altering the HST pallet for emphasising golds and turquoise. As good a place to start as any.

Thanks Allan, Not much data to this one, 5 Ha subs and 3 each of OIII and SII. As you can see Ha was dominant in time as well as signal. The colour in my shot is an extension of using the selective colour routine from above. I saved Bob Franke's steps as an PS action but it still had some green so I continued using selective colour to boost the orange (winged it with that but cannot recall exactly). I think I added magenta into the yellows and reds. Play around with it and see what you can come up with. Altering the neutrals can have some interesting effects too. This is a novice giving advice.

The Ha is certainly the strongest signal and has all the detail. I've processed a Sidonio with more data which comes up a little different, currently sitting on it to see if I like it or not or to reprocess. Trouble is I did it on the laptop as the daughter won't let me on the big computer (teenagers ). Thanks, I appreciate your comment.
