Binocs

I've had a pair of old 12 x 50 Super Zeniths for years. Quite light but just right for scanning the skies. But they've had some problems with internal alignment and damaged lens threads, sticking focusser wheel etc. They were old and battered when I got them but they have done me well anyway.

Spotted an exact same pair on TradeMe with a broken focusser shaft, got them for $10.00 plus postage. 45 minutes later and I have built one pair of good bins and scored a case and strap for them. Optics are much better as well.

That also gives me two 50mm f4.2(?) lenses, one of which I will combine with other parts to make a right angle finder scope for the DOB. The other ..? guide scope later maybe or another right angle for the EQ6 Pro setup which is on it's way.

Broken stuff can be so useful sometimes ...

Build that guide-scope, slip the NexImage into it, and try the new mount.
