Two more Dob images (NGC 5189, M83)

Hi All,

Sunday night was clear and seeing was quite good and I went to our MPAS "darker" site. I've got SQM-L meter this time and the sky measured at 20.86 at zenith with the Milky Way to the side.

I did not forget my shroud this time and took more exposures with Sony NEX-5. NGC5189 and M83 turned out quite nice, the small versions and a central crop of NGC5189 are attached. I added the full resolution images to my gallery at
http://www.terrastro.com/galleries/deep-space-hr/

NGC 5189: 22" SDM Dob, Sony Nex-5, 20 x 15sec, ISO 3200
M83: 22" SDM Dob, Sony Nex-5, 28 x 15sec, ISO 3200

No darks/flats. Stacking in DSS, processing in Photoshop CS5.

When the Moon came up we finished the imaging session with some excellent viewing of Saturn at 600x magnification. The storm was clearly visible and the shades of gray on the rings were just magnificent.

Cheers,
Alex

Incredible images as usual Alex, what a knack you have to be producing these images so quickly.

Mike, Adrian, Colin, niko, Daniel, Malcolm, Marco, and Dave - thanks for the comments!

Aperture does rule and this scope is brilliant for visual too. Starting to pack up for SPSP.

Clear skies,

Alex
