Hi Guys
For sale is the complete collection of Star Trek TNG episodes.
This is the 20th Anniversary Collectors Edition
They are genuine Aussie-spec R4 DVD's, not chinese bootlegs.
There are
176 episodes, approx 132 hours worth, plus special features, spread over
49 Discs!
Like most 80's and 90's programs, they were filmed with SD video camera's at only 480i
The early episodes do look a bit dodgy, but the picture quality increases noticably as the camera technology, and the shows budget, improves.
I hear you say..
"but.. the Original Star Trek is available in HD on Bluray!!"
Yes true, but the Original 60's series was filmed on.. film! It has the resolution to be transfered to HD.
Having said all that however, I have watched a lot of the episodes on a 40" HD TV with a Blu-ray player and the episodes have upscaled very nicely!
A couple of disks have light scratches, but these do not affect playback on any of my players. (Laptop's DVD and Sony Bluray player and a cheap-n-nasty Teac thing) Some discs have a fingerprint or two too.. but again, no affect on playback. I have not cleaned the fingerprints for two reasons....
1) there are 49 discs!
2) I try not to 'clean' optical discs unless they
need it... ie; they skip.
One disc has obviously had some serious scratching and looks like it has been repaired. This also did not affect playback on any of my machines.
Unfortunately the plastic cover has a join where the glue has very slowly migrated, the cover is now slightly too big to fit INSIDE the base(where it is supposed to fit). This has caused the cover to get broken when someone was trying to fit the cover OVER the base!
