Power Boats in Melbourne

Yesterday i went out on the bay fishing, and was lucky enough to get a few pics of these awsome machines as they carved their way through the slight chop.

Thanks Mick, got a couple of nice size Flathead and 1 size Snapper, not very productive, but the lack of fish was well made up for with these awsome craft thumping along at breakneck speeds.

Fwoar! I'd like a red one thanks. Don't know if they'd be much good for fishing in but they sure look fun.

Nice shots of the boats Trevor and sorry for your pollution. Must make transparency at night a pain to deal with

Fwoar! You got that right, power plus and the noise was unreal.

The haze is actually fog, not smog, it was very thick when i left to go fishing, could hardly see the road.

It's a bit of a shame though, as the pics would have been a lot better with a clear blue background, still i am very happy with what i got, about 400 odd images lol.

Nice shots Trev!
I can remember being out fishing off Carrum many years ago with the Off Shore Power racers screaming about. The noise from them is absolutely incredible.

you caught some fish, well done, but i can't see the trawl lines on the boats in the photos!

waste of a boat really, only two guys can fit in, there is no room for beer and what fish is fast enough to take the lure?????

Nice shots, reminds me of a Hobart regatta when I was a youngun, a boat very similar to the ones pictured blitzed the field leading from the start to within a 100 metres of the finish line where they hit some particularly nasty chop and barrel rolled. Luckily they landed upright, more than a little disorientated at 90 degrees to their intended direction and in one quick motion turned in the right direction and roared across the line to win.
