12" Skywatcher GO-TO Dob

Well it's slowly coming along. Where I'm at so far, after starting with the off-the-shelf unit.

1) Removed the std finder
2) New Telrad & mounted laser pointer
3) Kendrick Digifire 10 with EP heater, Telrad heater, Laser heater, 2ndry heater.
4) Primary mirror fan (put a bigger one on the 20", so put the old one on the 12")
5) Digital temp sensor showing Ambient & Mirror temp + Humidity.
6) Fitted all wiring, plugs, switches etc to run all of the above.

Have bought the bits ready to modify the ground board to make it a Powered Ground Board, so no more cables hanging around. The idea being that I just plug in the power supply cable coming from the trailer. Same as I do for the 20" SDM.

The last thing I want to do is replace the focuser for a Feathertouch. But I think that will have to wait a while.

All good. I live in Toowong (ATM), but at the top of the hill, so well above the water.

The main effect to me was the shops running out of things. Couldn't get milk for about 4 days at one stage.

Well I relented & bought the FT focuser. It should arrive in a few days.
The nice Starlight people have given me a Starlight Instruments sweatshirt / hoodie because over the last 5yrs i have bought 4 FT focusers.......

Once that gets here & is fitted, that's it. All done.
I've cut & fitted the 2 brass rings for the power contacts between the base & turntable. All is tested & working well.

Still haven't got photos. Sorry Paul. Will get some soon. Promise.

The focuser arrived but alas I can't fit it. I made a mistake when ordering the base plate. I need to get a mounting plate made.
