Leo Trio: Field Process

I am currently in the north of Thailand collecting some data in between the clouds and haze. This is a combination of LRGB at 90:40:40:40. The lum was taken at 1x1 binning and 10 minute subs. The RBG was at 2x2 and 5 minute subs. I will probably take some more lum to reduce the noise a little more. I think I might have over-done the saturation on the galaxies a bit.

Just a tad overcooked, looks a little false. Tone down the Galaxies a bit and you'll have a ripper, plenty of detail there!

Nice one, Rob!

You've also picked up a bit of the tidal stream of NGC 3628.

Well done.

Thanks everyone for your kind words.

I do have an admission to make. I had to do a very ugly patch job on the top left-hand corner as there is some sort of reflection in that corner. I wanted to preserve the FOV. The only thing that I can think of is that it is the light from Chertan just catching something at the right (or wrong) angle. However, I wouldn't have thought that it was bright enough as it is about about 2 FOVs away. You can see what I am on about in the attached image. There are also rays emanating from the same spot. The reflection is present in all frames taken over 2 nights and they move slightly with dithering. Any differing ideas?

Superb image quality. I actually said something else when I opened the image. The things I really like at the various colours presented in each galaxy. I really like the edge on detail and the semi face on is really nice in its delicate look. Very nice work.

Great stuff Rob. I agree with what has already been said.

Where abouts r you roughly. I have a good mate, who has an observatory at my dark sky site at Leyburn, that just bought about 3 acres just near Udon Thani to build a house and observatory on. I know he would probably like to ask a couple of questions re the sky and seasonal variation.

Yeh that's come out very nicely, I like the background, looks natural and not too dark black and the image doesn't look over smoothed and plastic.

NGC 3628 is very cool with its tidal tail showing

You could try adjusting the cyan in M65 & 66, see what it looks like .

Great job

Mike
are you talking Thailand as in Bangkok...?
