Just a reminder that you will be able to see Venus in the daytime tomorrow as it is close to the moon and will be easy to spot.
Binoculars will help but not really necessary. The best way to find it yourself is to get into a shady spot to shield yourself from the Sun's glare, at around 10am tomorrow morning the moon will be directly overhead.
Venus will be about 2 degrees SE of the Moon.
If you have clear blue skies then you will find it easily, patience is the key!
You could try today, right now, it will be about 12 degrees from the moon almost in a straight line back towards the Sun.
hmmm, i wander if it would be weird to take my binos to school... :\
Ah!, this takes me back to the mid 1960's. I recall me and my nerdy mates staring at the sky during breaks looking at Venus. No need to tell you what the others students thought of us.
I ended up being a High School teacher and with over 36 years in the profession, I tried not to judge the huge differences in personalities and capabilities of students here and overseas. As (sorry for starting the sentence off with a conjunction) my Dad use to say, there is nothing new under the Sun, which is pretty well spot on.

Reason: Correct bad spelling
....... As (sorry for starting the sentence off with a conjunction)......
It is evidently considered OK to do so. As is ending with a preposition (not sure with it, I am down) and splitting infinitives.
These are three of the many rules based on classic Latin grannar which has little relevance to a language that is largely Frankish (German/French) in origin.
Hi guys n gals,
Glad to see some were able to see it!
I am under cloud and will be for a few days from now
But i hope that some of you will get to take some happy snaps.
I got a shot of moon and Venus last month although Venus was a lot further away than this time around.
Just found Venus with the naked eye at midday here in Brisbane - very easily found just above and to the left of the Moon (which at the moment is directly west at 45 degrees altitude)! If you're in Brisbane get outside and have a look!
