Comet Pojmanski again

Hi All,

Not having much luck with Saturn ATM, and Jupiter is up too late for me yet, so another shot of our temporary visitor. This time taken with the Nikon D100 at prime focus.

Cheers
Stuart

Nice work Stuart, it's a little low on my horizon. How bright do you estimate it to be? Sky Charts puts it at 8.8.

I'm not good at estimating magnitudes of objects, paticularly diffuse ones like comets. All I can say is that I can find it much more easily than Tempel from last year. As it's low in the sky and parked over an outlying city (Geelong) for me the light pollution is also pretty bad, and I can still see it easily in the 8" SCT, it has to me around mag 8-9. I usually struggle to see galaxies that are of similar size at mag 9.

Cheers
Stuart
