Good show to watch

It's available on torrents if you know where to look. Prof Brian cox has done a 3 day live broadcast in the uk called Stargazer Live.

Enjoy

Yeah, I'm not sure if advocating torrents is such a good idea on this web site, Stu. : )

What's wrong with torrents? A lot of completely legitimate data is transferred that way, including very large astronomical image files, etc. Just because a few people use BT to share some copyright protected materials doesn't mean there's anything inherently wrong with the medium itself.

The astrologers are up in arms about 'Stargazing Live'

http://www.guardian.co.uk/science/th.../2011/jan/24/1

Professor Brian Cox and Dara O'Briain have unleashed the wrath of Britain's astrologers with their comments about the ancient art on BBC2's "Stargazing Live" show, with the result that the Astrological Association of Great Britain have started a petition they plan to send to the BBC.
The section of the program that caused the fuss has been described in truly harrowing terms by 'respected astrologer' Angela Cornish, in an e-mail that was published by the SkyScript blog:
"If you didn't happen to see it, there were two presenters, Professor Brian Cox and Dara O'Briain. All was going well until they got to a part where they had models of the planets in our solar system on a table and Dara was explaining that all of the planets orbit at different speeds and distances away from the Sun. He said only the earth orbits the Sun in 365 days and returns to its own place, showing that horoscopes are nonsense. He then went on to add "Let's get this straight once and for all, Astrology is rubbish" The other presenter, Brian Cox, then agreed and said "in the interests of balance on the BBC, yes astrology is nonsense."

Dara is one seriously funny guy! there's an awesome clip on youtube of him doing a bit about homeopathy at one of his stand up shows. very very funny... as for Brian Cox, i have a bit of a love hate relationship with him, i mean he's totally awesome, but he's one of those guys that's a little "TOO" cool for school. With his foppy hair and his PhDs and his "rockstar" nickname and his job at CERN, I just want to punch him for being so successful, lol, know what I mean?

People still believe in various versions of god and religion as well. They even go to war over it, which is a bit more serious than going to the hairdresser because of it!

Cheers,
Jason.
