HA NGC 3324 Gabriela Mistral Neb

Hi All,

Got in a bit of time through some high wispy cloud with the 7nm HA filter.

Ended up with 90 usable minutes of the Gabriela Mistral Neb, all in 10 minute subs. First go at imaging this for me, so comments etc appreciated.

Darren

Very nice, sharp as a tack.
Well done.

Imaged through the 9.25? That's such a good scope

No, Frank, the Ed 120, with the qhy9. It came up a fair it brighter with 10 minutes subs than I expected, although processing in Ha is still a bit like dark magic to me! I am overall probably most happy with the focus, the starlight focuser and digital control is really helping me with auto focus routines.

Thank you Doug. I still need to capture the colour, although I did manage to get 75 minutes of Ha data to add to my Thor image, but after several attempts in ccd stack and cs3, I'm not having a great deal of success blending. I'm thinking it's a workflow error on my part!

Maybe another instruction lesson at SV is due!

Yes Trevor, Thanks mate, quite happy with how it worked out.

Thank you Peter. Basically, I stretched it out using the white point slider in Levels, quite drastically to be honest. The the normal fine adjustment curves and selective sharpening using layer masks, a couple of different masks to get the different parts of the image to differing levels.

Cheeky girl, now that isn't a problem, cause we are all now going just to get the first hand story of you new toy! What you had to do for that is anybodies guess. oh and by the way, leave those black clouds up there when you head down.
