Earth is the planet standing still and the gap between Earth and the outer planets are changing distance to Earth. Earth is the big blue ball, totally out of proportion.
Jupiter and Saturn are getting close depending on time of the year. I am assuming they were not able to measure the distance accurately at the time for the outer planets.
