... hornswoggled !!!

I've been dragging the scopes out from the garage onto the driveway in front which has given me a nice southerly aspect and handy access to power, tools, anything I needed. The view is quite good with only a few tree obstructions blocking the lower horizon in the south.

Not anymore !!

Elderly neighbours (88) decided the big pittosporum tree/bush in the front yard was too tall for him to manage so he trimmed it, ...to ground level !

I now have an almost unobstructed view to the SCP. I've always been able to work around it by being patient and waiting for things to appear but now it's open slather.

I'd shout him a beer but he's not allowed to drink...

Now if I can work on the clouds the same way ....

Most old folk that I know are the happiest they can be knowing that they've made someones day somehow ... so just show him this thread (Just wait until yer not so disease riddled) ... he'll probably take his roof off next !!!!!

That's happy news.

How about giving him a look at Omega Centauri in your scope.

(If he can stay up that late. My mum and dad are in their eighties and they go to bed about 8.30.)

A good idea but like your parents they go to bed about 8-9:00 pm. And their lounge lights go off !! Another reason to love elderly neighbours !!

I keep our shared hedge under control and we chat occaisonally (he's almost deaf) and keep an eye out for them both as you do. I'll give him a hand to shift the tree debris to the bin and get rid of some of the bigger bits to my firewood pile.

Gave them a hand to shift the debris, gained some firewood which saved them some disposal problems. Thanked them for clearing my piece of sky which they thought was most amusing.
Don't you LOVE good neighbours ??

They went to bed by 9:00, .... but the clouds are out and about.
