I was planning on keeping this mount because it could easily handle the load I wanted to put on it and I finally figured out how to get it to work!
I have replaced and aligned the RA encoder (and also have another new spare encoder - supplied with the mount) and I have added bigger grub screws to the gears to stop them from slipping! Yes, Meade should have done this originally as it would have saved me many nights of heart-ache, but you don't have to worry because I have done it now!

If fact the bigger grub screws probably made the biggest improvement from what I can tell so far. Also I became more careful when doing the train drives function which helped a lot too.
So basically this mount does what it is supposed to do now.
The difference between the LXD75 and the LXD55 is the 75 has bearings insted of teflon pads and also has big tubular stainless steel legs that are much more stable than the old ones were.
You can not get this mount new for under $1450 in Australia.
AutoStar #497 controller and the standard non-goto electronic hand controller are both supplied. Also a 7AH 12V battery pack with carry case and charger are supplied. Original Meade box too!
Selling because a 4" Tak is for sale and I must find some way to get the money to buy it.

I love Apo's!
So buy the mount before I change my mind.
Australia only.
