Sirius all alone

Captured on 02-02-2011 done while setting up the alignment of my mount EQ2. Most probably some may like the star affect but looked OK, manage to get some nebulosity although as it was a test run haven't thought what I captured

Canon 45D unmodded
F5
8 x 30 second lights
8 x Darks
no Flats
205mm Lense FL

Hey Mal, when my camel saw this... he started to follow it and I ended up giving some kid in a stable gifts that were inapropriate for his age...

Nice alignment shot

Nice bright dog star Malcolm. It would be a bit hard trying to spot the pup with all the difraction spikes when using a lens.

I agree Doug, I knew it was a binary but one day when I get my EQ platform finished after my shoulder is fixed I will have a go at locating it.

I think a couple of seconds may show something.

I may try the camera again, I usually align the mount on Sirius anyway.
