Horsehead with 60Kmph winds

Hi there,

Took this happy snap under idiotic Astrophotographic conditions last night.
wind gusts of over 60Kmph, loads of people at chittering AGWA site but only one crazy as-d photographer

Most people thought photography was impossible but i havent been out for a while and mini cyclone gusts werent going to ruin my fun.

Kept things to minimum weight, Equinox 80mm and finder guider on the NEQ6. Atik 11000 and titan as guidecam.
(Very little processing used, levels and curves and some colour saturation)
10x6mins

That excellent for Storm Chasing Astroimaging, must be a tight strong setup. Well developed nebulosity and Flame is very expansive and strong nebulosity below HH.

John.

Great job for only 60 mins.!

A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do shane, especially when a man hasn't done it for a while

Pretty gusty wind conditions here too... must be an 'El Torro' pattern happening..... God help us

Hi Shane,

That's a great image. Try stretching it - there's a wonderful lot of dust you've caught there that needs teasing out. Should yield a corker!

Very nice result, without the wind, so IMO it is outstanding.

Extreme imaging.....
We've all had a bit of that going lately.
It's been pretty lean times for imaging, and you've gotta grab what you can while you can.
You've come up trumps, an excellent image!
