Sun 27th Jan

Seeing was pretty good in a few patches today which enabled me to get a good shot of the Prom also posted is a zoom version which is not as sharp and a processed version (600 fr stack in REG 5 colour in Picasa)

yes, saw that one, yesterday.

(just bought a PST from BINTEL few days ago, $650 with case).

a quick question...

is that what it looked like in the ep or is the photo zoomed and cropped.

i am experimenting with mine and found a 12mm with 1.5 shorty gives a crisp view, contrary to popular opinion i've seen on the web which suggests using less magnification.

Colin basically what I see through the eyepiece approximates the coloured versions I post.I use a 6omm Daystar 0.5A Ha scope with a 56mm plossl or a 30 or 40mm Vixen to get the whole sun view.The focal length of my scope is in excess of a meter.Experimentation is the best.My best views however are live video on a 76cm Panasonic CRT TV which at the moment are better than anything I post.Yesterday the seeing was a bit above average .Often in the morning and sometimes late in the arvo seem to give good visual
