I had a very different and very unexpected astronomical experience today!
One of my non-astronomical passions, apart from my wife, is choral singing.
Today I attended a choral conductors workshop and master class in Melbourne, as a member of an invited choir.
We were given no warning of what music we would be singing, and it turned out that nobody had ever heard of any of the pieces!
One work was called "Three Nocturnes" by American composer Dan Forrest (

The three pieces were titled "Stars', "Lightly Stepped A Yellow Star', and "Thou Motive of the Stars".
I've managed to find recorded versions on Youtube which you might like to check out, for both the music and the graphics.
Be warned, this isn't music that everyone will enjoy!

These pieces were inspired by the wonder of the night skies out on the plains of Kansas, something I think we can all understand.
