Jellyfish Nebula IC443

Howdy everyone

Still warming up to the new year of imaging, here is the Jellyfish nebula.
Never shot this one before. It doesn't get very high from my location, would have liked see the filaments resolve better but I guess I'm asking too much.
Also, not quite sure what I'm doing with the colours, open to suggestions.

http://spacedoutdave.blogspot.com/20...sh-nebula.html

Exposure = Approx 5hrs in hubble palette
Focal Length = 1600mm (RC8)
Image Scale 0.7 arcsec/pixel (QHY9)
Sensor Temp = -15°C

Cheers

Dave

That is surprisingly good for a northern object imaged in Oz. You got a lot of good data there.

Ha dominates the image because it is the strongest signal hence the green colour as you assigned it green.

You can use pixel math and make the red and blue channels multiplied to boost them or use curves on the red and blue channels only to get a better colour balance.

Ot when you do your colour combine set the weights by trial and error. Probably something like 4 for red and blue and 1 for green. Perhaps even stronger than that.

Greg.
