2 hours is all I get for now

I actually got 2 whole hours of clear sky last night -- WOW! I usually can't image until about May so I was pleased.

I used that generous time to finish my mosaic of the region near IC405 and IC410. I sure could have used more time but beggars can't be picky.

There are a lot of stars in the region so when the data is stretched the whole sky becomes stippled. Still, you can see all the gas and dust in the area -- sort of pretty!

Comments/criticisms are welcome, as always.

Yes, wonderful work. Not familiar with that area, so doubly nice to see on a wet cloudy weekend here.

Fabulous image Tom. 2 hours isn't long but it's better than nothing I suppose. Everyone here in Aus had a long imaging drought for quite a while and probably would have been happy with 2 hours as well.

Very nice tight image.

That's nice, I thought it was a 2 hr exposure but reading the fine print it says 7.5 ..... Punchy colors.

Thanks everyone.

The right side of the image was a 5.5 hour exposure from October. The left side was the 2 hour exposure from the other night. Thus, total for this mosaic 7.5 -- but it really needs about twice that amount!

Gorgeous Tom. Love it.

Bummer about the available clear skies. I had a dream run the last 2 weeks with 11 out of 12 nights clear skies at my dark site observatory.

I am looking forward to your first light with the AP Riccardi Honders - no doubt the lack of skies is a stop there.

Greg.
