Losmandy G11 Mount or Astrophysics 900

i have been reading up on both mounts and it seems the G11 mount has alot of problems compared to the Astrophysics mount. Would it be worth spending an extra $5000 and get a AP 900 mount? Anyone here tried both of these mounts for astrophotography? I Just want a good mount for a C11 thats gunna last me a long time and not run into any problems.

The G11 is great mount (had one for a few years now and still have it), but after a couple of weeks with the AP, its beautiful. Yes you can get fantastic guiding out of the G11 at long focal lengths if you like tweeking (think Lotus), but the AP autoguided at 2m straight out of the box (think ferrari ). The G11 is very fussy with balance and worm gear mesh. I have heard that the new one piece worm block solves a lot of problems. The motors could be better but they do the job.

Is the AP worth the extra 5 grand? If you can afford it yes, if its a stretch to afford then work with the G11, after all it was originally packaged with a C11.
