Ending the year with a Cheer - M42 mark2 from the Doghouse

Well took two nights worth of data to end 2010 and say i actually got something from the year - 10h 14min and a few seconds

ISO800 with the CLS CCD filter cooled 40D 127ED on the G11 with the new C11 sitting side by side. Seeing was poor

Stacked in DSS and processed in Pixinsight 1.61

going to see th 9pm fireworks in town but when i get back if it is clear i will image the HH to see in 2011

Nice job dave

Clean and well framed and the trap blend is excellent but you've just lost the colour in there is all, maybe that's the CLS filter?.

Nice way to finish the year

Happy New Year

Mike

A great start, HOughy, what better target to begin with. Lots of sharp star points, blended with clarity in the dust cloud...nice to see both!

Mate, I am so pleased you have finally finished your dome, I am going to need some tips from you about how to get such a development past the Development Officer (aka SWMBO).

Happy New Year!

Excellent image David.

You might explain what "10 hours-worth" of data means to those here who may not necessarily know.

I imagine your per-sub exposure time will be different now with the cooled camera - or are you maintaining similar times but with less noise at maybe higher sensitivity (800 vs 400ISO)?

Beautiful image Mr Hoff....

It's so good to see all of your efforts with dome progress over the months finally coming together.

Look forward to seeing what the doghouse produces in '11.
