great photo. Can you tell me how you get the ocean effect as I have seen that type of effect with waterfalls and would love to have a go myself.

Mark,

It's long exposure with a small aperture and low ISO, sometimes with the use of neutral density filters.

Biggest factor: light.

Nice work - my 9 stop ND filter arrived yesterday - I hope to have a go at some pics like this whilst on holidays after Christmas!

Very nice warm light, I love this kind of scenes. I'd feel very very tempted to clone out the fishermen as they are a little distracting. You can ask them to go if you are a purist about edit but I'd let them enjoy the morning and just clone.

its a long exposure... the sun had gone and it was getting dark. this is only the second time i have tried this type of shot on water so i am happy with it.

this is taken @ 500mm for the record, I did come prepared for the moon.

@ Luigi, I think you'll find that if you remove the people you lose the sense of scale.

Lovely image David! You've captured some amazing colour, and the creamy water looks great. I agree about the people providing a sense of scale in the image.

Cheers,
Stephen
