The Horsehead Ridge

I was going over my recent data and tweeking it and trying various crops (as I do ) and I thought this one looked nice. I really like the HII ridge that the horsehead sits in so I have framed it accordingly, some of you might like to see it, so here it is (you can click on the image to see the other variations if you haven't seen'em yet...or are bored )

The Horsehead Ridge

This is a nice property of a big chip and medium focal length scope, provides a lot of flexibilty in framing and cropping.

I really like the detail in 2023 never seen it quite as good before, tempting to image it close up on its own but the rain will put an end to that idea!

John.

Very pretty Mike. I think that you have everything right with this image (not that you don't normally of course <g>).

Cheers

You must be suffering hard Mike. Time to go kick Houghy out of the dog house and take up residence yourself.

That's possibly the best horsehead I've seen Mike, maybe apart from Hubble's
Awesome framing, it really captures the area, and the cyans/blues/yellows provide a wonderful contrast. The entire image looks like a painting, it's very well processed.
