IR shots and cicadas

Here's a couple of shots taken Saturday afternoon at the local bike park.

Experimented with the IR filter some more, it's hard work.. need 3-4 second exposures to get it bright enough, so of course that presents its own challenges including the subject staying still for that long!

The cicada shots are without the IR filter, of course.

I got for $40 second hand. They're around $60 brand new, but I don't know if you can get them for point and click cameras. I suppose you can, if you've got an attachment to allow threaded filters onto your lens.

Every time I read this thread I'm amazed that no one has accused you of being a "bugophile". That fourth pic is obviously bug pron....and you're guilty of capturing it and storing it on your computer. I'm affraid you'll now have to register yourself with the local authorities as a bugophile....LMAO
