Books on solar observation

Well, thanks to IISAC2010, I think I might have a new hobby.... So, I'm wondering what books people would recommend for getting started on solar observing? I've had a look at Amazon; aside from the Coronado-specific book, most of the books look like they might be a bit too patronising. Of course, that might just be a function of their bad publicity! Anyone got a favourite they would recommend? I'm just starting out, and am not yet sure whether I want to get into imaging/video.

Thumbs up

Solar Astronomy Handbook, Beck - Hilbrecht - Reinsch - Volker
546 Pages, Hard Cover. Willmann-Bell Inc. ISBN 0-943396-47-6

http://www.willbell.com/handbook/hand6.htm

Not the cheapest option. It's meaty yet accessible. And certainly not patronising.

I got my copy from Bintel in Melbourne.

Regards,

TT

They are going for less than US$30 at Amazon.
