2 serious scope packages

Too many scopes and time to nationalize a little.

For sale are:

1. A C14 package. This scope is not a traveler. It is one for a fixed location on a pier. It is offered as OTA only with no tripod or mount.

It is an Orange Tube C14 of uncertain age but almost certainly 20+ years. I have modified it by replacing the original secondary mounting/securing system with a Starizona HyperStar adapter - so it is now HyperStar compatible (unlike others of the same vintage).

I have added a new Moonlight focuser, rings and Losmandy D-Bar. I was going to do more dramatic mods by adding a couple of Peltier coolers but haven't got around to it yet. But the Peltiers and Fans can go with the scope if wanted.

The mirrors are in great shape and the corrector plate is good but does need another removal/cleaning and consequently another collimation.

There are some marks on the rear of the OTA where I was planning to drill holes for the Peltiers but there are cosmetic only. There are marks on the tube consistent with age and it's long use in an observatory.

Also included is:
A Celestron .63 adapter.
A set of Bob's Knobs for collimation;
A Celestron Dew-shield.
A 12VDC SCT cooler device (instead of using Peltiers)

Please PM any queries etc to me and offers over A$4000. Below that and you needn't bother.

This is really a pickup job -the OTA alone weighs 23Kgs; but I could also meet a buyer within say a 200km radius of Brisbane.

2. A complete "traveler" pakage comprising:
An HEQ5Pro mount/tripod (Go-To) effectively new;
A short-tube Orion 100mm F6 achro with a Tak finder with rings and Vixen Bar.
Included are:
An ADM Losmandy Puck for the Mount;
A 2 x Vixen SBS bar and saddles
A 13.8 VDC power supply
A BluEQ bluetooth serial/GPUSB adapter
2 very attractive and professionally built wood and aluminum transportation cases for the scope and tripod and a modified/strengthened aluminum case for the mount head. It is a very neat, well packaged and transportable complete traveler.

This too is a pickup package I think although, as above, a meet 1/2 way is also workable.

I will post some images later and further images on request to serious inquirers.

Again, please PM me with queries and offers over A$2300. Below that, don't bother.

Neither package will be split. It's an all-in deal in each case.

C14 images attached. Only limited opportunity to work with this scope - a new EdgeHD 1400 turned up and took over the Titan immediately, so the old C14 was relegated to a corner. But These couple of images will indicate the optics are sharp - I reckon that the collimation could be tweaked a bit more too.

Didn't get around to it. Too many scopes, not enough time etc etc.

Although I have mounted it on the EdgeHD and shot an M42 region through high cloud. Rubbish image but it does tell you what the image scale would be with the C14 - same FL etc.

G'day Mark. Why would they? The optics on these mirrors are better than those that followed - by a large margin. It's the coatings that are different.

Dammit Peter, I haven't even had a chance to get out there to look through the C14 and now you're flogging it off! Its hard to keep up with the Joneses. (not that I've been to 10Chain for over 6 months I guess).

Sorry for hijacking....
