Cool Flame Nebula

The APOD image today is the Flame Nebula NGC2024

But also check out the image from the 200"(5mt) Hale Telescope from Mt Polomar in the Infra Red to see what all that dust is hiding

Amazing!! The APOD makes me feel like I'm floating beneath it and so very close, just wow. Thanks for sharing Ron

An interesting point, if this Nebula was anywhere else other than close to the almost invisible to the eye in the Telescope "The Horse Head nebula",it would be a show piece, but most people strive to see the Horse Head and overlook "The Flame Nebula"
