What to do in the wet Season ?

Well ... we are doing a Telecopes & Astronomy night here in Nhulunbuy.
Should be a lot of fun, a big thanks to Aust Sky & Tel for permission to show the "hubble" DVD & a great door prize.
I will post pictures of the event afterwards!

read the heading and thought i could be a funny bugga and say "well, just tap your wife on the shoulder and see if she is keen", but then upon opening, i realized you already had an event to do in the rainy season.

best of luck with this one, it should be a cracker

I am sure you are right there Dave, I would like to bet there are more Sept & October babies
born in the tropics
As for the Telescopes night, I have done a trial run of the DVD on the BIG screen (Cinema Size) and it looks & sounds awesome.
We will also have club members pulling scopes apart to show how they work.
Some Demos of ATM & a "clinic" to help people get the most out of their scopes.
I'm looking forward to it

Good luck with your evening, We're are pretty much flooded in here, The veggie
garden is gone that was two days ago and it's still coming down strong. I
wonder if both bridges on the road in here are still above water. But then again I
remember last years was the same... then at the end of Jan we had 3 months of
almost perfect weather!!! looking forward to that!!!!

regards,CS

Good luck with the event Ian. Hope everyone has a good time.

Poor Rob,
I know the work that you would have put into your vege garden. Heartbreaking.

Good luck with the event! As for Rob, the rains might be my fault (although I did have 1 1/2 weeks of nice clear...but HOT weather during X-Mas) as I got my 10" GS dob several days prior to X-Mas. Looks like the rain gods are back from vacation.....

Darren, cool man! as long as your at least getting some good skies I'll wear your weather in a box lol... How's a the new scope you must be loving that!!

jjjnetie, well at least the silver beet survived at 3.99 a bunch at the supermarket
I'm very pleased lol

My yard now looks like a semi marsh... just waiting on the mozzies, if they weren't bad
before they will be shortly.

Not really sure if they are a big seller here as I grow my own lol. I have Bell chillies
which are a bit like sweat red capsicum but with a cracked pepper kinda after taste.
They are pretty much stuffed. A kinda thumb size variety which you can also eat raw
(before they go red that is), again a bit like a young capsicum with more of a bite.
And a very hot variety from indonesia you could etch concret with which I generally
use for making spray for the garden. When I get a few kgs together I send them up
the road to the o'l girls in the bush and they come back as chillie relish! : )

Ummmmm...errrrr...yeah well I changed providers awhiles back and haven't uploaded
it. But I'm also in the middle of redoing it with a slight change of theme. Being busy
then lazy then busy... you know how it is lol... I think I better go re-edit my signature lol

regards,CS

Even put together a brand new 8" Dob straight out of the box!

Congrats on the new members, Ian.
Ahhh, a new dob. Bet that took you back a couple of years. Did you have any trouble with assembly? L.

Actually I didn't have to do anything with the dob, the maintenance team took care of that I was to busy raving on about the wonders of the universe ! (and encouraging folks to become new members)
