Jupiter, SEB revival, Ganymede and Europa's shadow transit
Well I got some half decent seeing tonight and managed to capture the SEB revival, Ganymede with detail and the shadow transit of Europa. Plenty of detail present throughout the image too.

Comments most welcome.

That's a cracker of an image Paul - so much detail on the planet and on the moon. It just looks 3D to me. I just wish I has the equipment to get somewhere near your image.

Wow, a bit of everything happening there. Nice detail on Ganymede. Looking forward to see how the SEB develops.

Hi Paul,
Excellent capture with heaps going on - I am enjoying the revival of SEB (do you think it is actually the beginning of it's return?)

Yes it si pretty well confirmed now, this is apparently a typical updraught that gets the revival going. This area continues to grow night by night and I am assuming that soon we will see the reds start to develop in the cloud tops.

Here is another image from later on. This one shows the revival near the meridian and Ganymede's shadow in transit.

This not just a photographic target at present either. I could clearly see this at 325x last night in the eyepiece. So if you want to take a look it is there to be seen.

Thats a real beauty Paul, lovely detail right across the image and also with Ganymede. It was not long after this that I called it a night with Jupiter waving like a flag but it must have been much steadier for you.
Very well done.
Regards
Trevor

It was wobbling around like a mad womans custard for me too. There were moments that it steadied and I sat praying for a full 3 minutes when the wobble would settle. These images are the only ones that really looked good.

Man that is just stunning, I'm not much of a Planet person so to speak, but that image is awesome.
