Had to collect them from the post office, down to the shops about 8:30 this morning bugger me if there wasnt an RBT on the highway.
Definitely need a bigger dovetail and mounting plate.
So another wait
Refer picture with existing dovetail with 100mm rings
Nice looking items Chris, but expensive! Should work well being rotating ones!! (are they the rotating ones?)
No such luck Ken, rotating rings not available for that size, its a special size just for the Meade 10" Starfinder (sonotube) dont think I would have paid the extra even if they were available.
Luckily I ordered and paid for them way back last year, dont count in this years astro budget.
Looked at AstroJunks idea in the other thread, problem for another day, when I get frustated not having them rotate.
I can get rings very very cheap.
The 250mm rings that look the same as the ones he purchased cost me under Aus $100.00 plus local delivery will be alot cheaper than that.
I can get bits and pieces and some scopes, mounts etc at wholesale, so if theres something you need let me know and i'll check the prices.
Fit the size of tube you specify. In this case 250mm.
In any case, http://www.saxon.com.au/ is the website.
If theres something in there you want a price on let me know. I have most prices on a list here at home.
The saxon/Skywatcher tube ring's are cheap chinese made.....ok for visuls but wouldn't consider them for photography....and they dont have a nice wide flat base needed for extra support.
I had the Skywatcher/saxon rings for my ED80 before I purchased the Parralax rings...you cant compare the 2 rings...completely different build quality.
I have the 100mm rings on my 14" RCX400 and they work fine.
I agree for the larger size they would need a better support base.
But i think up to 5" they should be OK.
I agree Gama....the little 5" would be fine on its own..... but I wanted to sit another guide scope on top these rings and the rings wern't fine.....
You are using the rings on a already supported 14"RCX....try putting onother guide scopes and accessories on top of the 5" rings and see how much flex you get.
33South is looking for a strong support from the mount upwards to start with...so for that alone I cant blame him....good choice 33....now you will have to make a really wide dovetail base plate.

I agree!!!! the flat areas are 6" x 1" pre-drilled and tapped.
Not exactly light, thats my main concern - about 3.5Kgs between them. Gonna be interesting to see how the ol EQ6 handles this lot.
try http://www.kendauzat.net/ for the custom made plate and matching holes for the EQ6. I get mine this week!!!!
Had a look at the web site the other day, did you get the X-tra HD Dovetail bar or did Ken do a special.
Please post pictures (I know you will anyway)
It wont make Lostock so Im in no rush now, probably just bring the LX90, will your EQ6 and plate make an appearance at Lostock if so Im looking forward to checking it out.

"Your order is finished and packed and will be shipped out tomorrow. I completed it yesterday and I'm sure you will be impressed with both the Dual Saddle Assembly and the G-8 /EQ6 adapter (2.25"/2.5") . I made certain both will fit your dovetail bar. I added a special feature to the Dual Saddle ... The Adapter is spring loaded with two locking knobs on brass treads (extremely smooth action). Please let me know how you like them.
