I have seen this before while researching Mel Bartels drive system, it sure looks a beauty, the mirror alone would be nice to see.

O man... too big for me... I am already finding my 12' dob a pain to lug around...

The problem with these "open tube" telescopes is that you get dew real quick....

If I ever owned a 'scope that big I would have it mounted perminently at a dark site. Lugging something like that around is asking for trouble.

Yeah, a permanent setup/observatory would be a must with something that big. Just setting up my 12.5" is a pain in the rear these days.

"try using your hands to set it up then asi " Thanks for the advice dude! Never thought of doing that!

It's 'cos my OTA weighs 80 pounds plus that creates the pain in the......hands lol.

I have looked through that scope at the Oregon Star Party and got to hear the talk about it. Quite the scope. I camped next to the little red one at an earlier star party. Typical, in the presence of fame and didn't even notice it.

The three poles have a threaded adjustment in them so that they can be tightened against the strings. Those floppy things on the strings are just safety covers in case one of the strings breaks.
