This really does it for me - the best APOD image i have ever seen

I am in total awe of todays APOD

I have seen some very deep shots of this area and even had a hack at trying to get my own but this image for me is absolutely awesome. The depth and detail is breathtaking. Probably not perfect but i can look past its flaws and just admire the whole area - sublime

Its this kind of image that makes me quiver on sooooo many levels. My 8 year old son is named Ruben Orion and he just went gah gah over this shot!

It would be interesting to see the rest of the whole sky with this treatment.

Yep..an FSQ-106EDX with reducer and STL-11K..so he imaged at f/3.6. This image has an incredible amount of detail.

Quite an image, it would have taken quite a lot of photoshopping to compensate for the difference in luminosity of the various features.
