concrete pier

well my lx90 has been taken of the concrete pier in my pod.my new lx200 14" arrives at the end of next week, and the pier is to high to accommodate the new scope so me and my little lady have cut approx 155mm out of the pier as you can see in the pictures how much was being removed, theres 3 threaded rods going through the centre so ive cut all the way around the concrete and then chiselled out the rest grinding around the threaded rod and cutting and cleaning the thread.ive then tightened down the bottom plate and when the scope comes ill bolt the top plate to the scope and then place it on top of the 4 bolts attached to the bottom plate and then levell the top plate with scope attached.
ive then got the little lady (ELISE)to vacuum, mop and wipe down the pod so its spottless and dust free-ive also helped.
ill post more pictures when im mounting the new scope.

Great Job Mozzie. LX14 congratulations. I bet you are excited. Moving to the dark side are we? A little planetary imaging in the pipeline???

That's hard and dusty yakka Pete! Nice job.

Mind if i give Elise a call when I need to fit mine to the paramount? Could be a couple of years but at least she's got plenty of warning I'll be calling.

Oh and I might need you to show me how to do all that cutting, grinding and thread cleaning. The piers only 340mm thick (formatube)
