Sunspot question

I've noticed over the past few days that 2 current sunspots, that started off as single spots, have divided into 2 sections.
Sort of like cells dividing. One of them now seems to be combining back into a single spot.
Could somebody tell me what causes this?

Cheers
Chris

The dynamics of the solar surface, the magnetic fields etc all play a part in shaping sunspots and faculae. Changes from minute to minute, hour to hour.
That's what makes observing the Sun so interesting.....
