Tarantula Nebula - Finally Finished

Hi All,

It's been a long time coming. I've now fully completed NGC 2070 the Tarantula Nebula.

It has a whopping 31.3 hours of exposure time with 14 of this dedicated to HA.

http://www.southern-astro.com.au/gallery.php?PhotoID=9 (the core in hi res)

Because it’s a wide field shot I also managed to pick up some real faint
fuzzies:

NGC 2044
NGC 2042
NGC 2100
NGC 2108
NGC 2109
Potential Egg?

Here is the same image inversed.

I think I will say the same thing that was was once said about Mozart when someone said about one of his compositions 'It's OK but has too many notes'

This has far too much exquisite detail (for us mere mortals) otherwise would be digestible.
I can't find a suitable superlative.

It’s a bit of a long shot, I just wanted to start a debate on wether people think this is an egg? I have no idea what it is? It looks like an egg? Or is it?

Cheers,
Brad

Hi Brad,

Now that I know what an "egg" is (thanks) I can safely say about your "potential egg", maybe!

Cheers
