Quotable Quotes
I have a funeral to attend tomorrow - my math's teacher from high school who also ran the Astronomy Club (I've been a geek for a long time!). He's the one to blame for my current affliction.
The school sent out a message to the Alumni on behalf of his family. I had kept in contact with him for a little while after leaving high school, but had not spoken to him for around a decade. I had only thought of contacting him a couple of months ago after getting back into Astronomy last year. Just another reminder to not put off until tomorrow what can be achieved today.
Some friends of mine thought we should send some flowers to the family and the following quote was suggested:
"If there is anything that can bind the heavenly mind of man to this
dreary exile of our earthly home and can reconcile us with our fate so
that one can enjoy living—then it is verily the enjoyment of the
mathematical sciences and astronomy" - Johannes Kepler
Quite appropriate for the mathematician/astronomer.
