Ngc 602

Here's a shot of NGC 602 in Hydrus, an outlying nebula in the SMC. I've never imaged this one before so didn't know what to expect. It seemed to be fainter than I imagined but maybe it's my light polluted skies. Seeing conditions were no better than average.

Cheers

Steve

Gee Steve that's a lot of exposure ...is it that faint..?

Nice job, you are getting quite a collection of these zero'd in on Magellanic cloud tid bits huh?..that's the great thing about your scope

Mike

Thanks Mike. Yes, I'm somewhat bothered by the apparent faintness and wondering if I did something wrong. There is only 70 minutes of real luminance in there though - the rest is synthetic.

Cheers

Steve

Whoops! Just noticed I got the exposure caption wrong. There's only 240 minutes of Ha, not 400.

Nice work Steve. What FOV does your setup give?

Nice Steve. That would be a small target on my gear. Image scale makes all the difference.

Thanks Paul and Peter

Peter, the FOV for this setup is 22.5 x 33.8 arcminutes.

Cheers

Steve

Very nice and unusual target. Again a bit small for my gear to do it any justice at all.

Hi Steve

we did exchange emails on this very nice image off the forum, but again, I like it a lot particularly as I have not seen this before.

Thanks Martin. I think I suggested this one to you as a possible target quite a while back. Of course you are a bit too far north for it these days.

I didn't know you posted here Steve.

A very fine image. I imaged this one many years ago with the C11, it doesn't compare well with your image.

Regards

Steven
