Solar Filter assistance please

I am wanting to purchase some solar film to use on my LX200 10" scope.. the film I am wanting to purchase allows me a 9" width. this will cover the front plate by 1/2" all around the corrector... Just want to ask if this will upset my image or is it a little like reducing the light in a DOB, and will make no noticable differance in my view of the sun...

Regards
Martin

Yes, it will reduce the amount of light a little, but certainly nothing to worry about when viewing the Sun in white light!!
