Celestron CGE 1400 Pro FASTAR

Hi,
I already talked about this subject in the beginners equipment forum, but wasn't happy with the answers I received. So I was hoping to get more comprehensive replies over here.
I would like to know the pros and cons of the Celestron CGE 1400 Pro FASTAR before buying it as my second scope after my Meade ETX 70. The following criteria seem important:
-portability and set up (I don't want to build an observatory)
-how good is the mount it comes with?
-image/view quality (also in comparison to the EdgeHD of the same size)
-your personal 1 out of 10 rating
-anything else you might consider important to know besides the points above

Thanks

These were posted on CN and I found it very informative as well as comical.

I would reccomend looking at the used market as with the release of EdgeHD many people are letting go of there C14's at a good price.

Is this mainly for Visual or Imaging use?

Regards
Fahim

Thanks Fahim,
I'm planing to use the CGE 1400 Pro for both visual and imaging uses.

Bart

Is the EdgeHD so much better than the CGE 1400 Pro?

Seriously, if you want portability, don't go down the C14 way!

This bloke must be a chiropractor! Seriously with the C11/Hyperstar + dewshield and cameras on I can lift mine to shoulder height and slide it on the G11 but I have to be quick! C14? Not a chance....
