Welcome to the fold JohnG ............

JohnG (who is now missing a celestron 8" SCT ) Glad I talked you into joining IIS. You will find we don't bight, scratch or steal, but we do often "critique" each other in a harmonious manner.

We love images so feel free to post them

Read up on the sites' rules and regs and get to it. You should have some time now without a scope for a few weeks .

Thank you for the welcome. Ah, but I still have the Tak FS-102, no way would I go without having some sort of scope. Enjoy the C-8, hOughy, you have got at least 2 weeks of rain ahead, the dreaded new equipment curse. (BG)

The Tak is permanently mounted on a Losmandy GM-8 with Gemini. Made for each other, with an 11lb weight, you can have the counterbalance up nice and high on the bar.

Welcome JohnG, glad you've joined our group.
Enjoy your stay, we're all a bit nutty around here, except for Houghy who keeps us all in line .

Hope to see some of your images.

Very nice scope BTW.

Thank you, have been known to do some pretty nutty things, hanging out of helicopters, off cliffs, the Harbour Bridge to name few. I have just started back into imaging, so easy now with EOS 350D DSLR. When I get a bit better I will post them.

This is an image taken a couple of nights ago with the Tak, I need to still do a little work on my focus.
